My Current WIP

What is a WIP? In crochet terms, a WIP project that is a work in progress.
So what is my WIP? It is......

It is a blanket!
This is going to be a queen size blanket. It is going to be made up of 48 individual squares crocheted together.
The coolest part of the blanket is that the squares were crocheted by my great- grandma. The squares came in a box with several others items.
It came with the pattern for the blanket (the large paper), the crochet hook she used to make the squares, two yarn needles, and a pattern for another blanket (the small paper).
Besides the actual squares, I think this crochet hook is my favorite things that came in the box. My great-grandma used this crochet hook so much you can see where the paint is worn out. I just think it is so cool that I get to finish something with the tool she used to start it!
Yarn also came in the box with the squares. The yarn in the middle and in the front is what I am using to crochet the squares together. The yarn on the left is going to be used for the border.
So how am I constructing the blanket? Well, I am single crocheting the individual squares together to form....
Long stripes, eight squares long. Then I crochet the strips together until.....
It forms a large beautiful blanket.

All of this to say, I was given the squares all finished and now I am going to crochet them together to form a blanket.

I can't wait to show you the finished project!

What is your WIP? I would love to hear!

Talk to you later,
