Toddler Hat: Crochet Pattern Review

I made this toddler hat for my brother for Christmas. Although I completely forgot I even had made the hat until my mom reminded me to give it to him! Thankfully he didn't care and loves the hat!!
I got the pattern here from Alli of Alli Crafts. I did change a couple things. First and most obviously I did not add the earflaps like she did in her pattern. I also added a pom-pom and the white row at the bottom.
I also did a completely different join. I used this tutorial here. It is a lot of work weaving in the ends but it is totally worth it!! In the end you can barely see the seam.
I also added a pom-pom. I used some off the left-over white and blue yarn to make it. I should have made the pom-pom a little fuller and sewed it on tighter. Next time I will also make it longer than nine rows. Ten or twelve would have been better.
I apologize for the blurriness and light variation in the photos. I am practicing my photography skills. My outdoor photos turn out a lot better! But I'll keep practicing!

Well I hope you have enjoyed this quick post! Happy New Year!
